Scott's Genius continues to set the standard for best in class weight but has been brought bang up to date with modern trail geometry and an improved 150mm suspension kinematic. It's a complete all rounder, with the weight and suspension settings to clear any climb and the travel and geometry to nail any descent. It's capable, fun and lightweight, perfect for all day adventures in the hills.
The Scott Genius 960 features 29" wheels as standard but can be converted to 27.5" wheels by simply flipping a chip at the shock and fitting the smaller wheels. 29" wheels offer better trail obstacle roll over and stability than the smaller 27.5" wheel option.
The geometry of the Scott Genius 960 is bang up to date. With a slacker head angle, longer reach, shorter chainstays and a steeper seat angle the Genius perfectly balances the long front end required for descending stability with the requirement to be agile on climbs too. This balanced geometry is essential for days out in the hills where you ride over a huge range of terrains, gradients and pitches.
The Genius's suspension kinematic has been refined to give excellent small bump sensitivity, a supportive mid stroke and a controlled deep stroke for predictable bottom outs. Specific pivot placement ensures efficient pedalling performance and neutral braking reaction too. This balance between comfort, control, chassis stability and rear wheel traction is the result of years of development and is the perfect match for the Genius's do anything chassis.
The Scott Genius 960 also features Scott's renowned Twinloc handlebar remote which allows the rear shock to be switched between 3 modes; 150mm travel, 100mm travel and lockout. The same lever also controls the front fork between 140mm travel and lockout. This on the fly adjustability allows you to instantaneously adapt to the changing trail situation and ensures your ride is always optimised.
If you want a great all round trail bike which can get you up as well as down then the Scott Genius 960 is a great place to start.
